W: I hate writing term papers! It takes forever!
M: You’re lucky. When I was young, we didn’t have computers. We used to write our papers on typewriters.
(Text 3)
W: I’m not feeling very well.
M: Shall I go with you to see the doctor?
W: I can go to the hospital myself. Would you please inform the teacher I won’t be able to come to his class today?
M: No problem.
(Text 4)
W: So you finally listened to your wife’s demand and gave up smoking?
M: It was my doctor’s advice. I was suffering from high blood pressure.
(Text 5)
M: I like Denmark.
W: But we flew there last year. I prefer taking a ship to Greece for a change. Shall we go to a small village in the south? Look, what about this?
M: Very nice, and it looks quiet.
(Text 6)
W: You look sick.
M: I have a cold. In fact, this is the first cold I’ve had in years.
W: Still, summer is the worst time of year to have a cold. But whatever you do, care about it.
M: Well, I can’t very well stay in bed. Who would take care of the shop? And Tuesday is the best day for customers.
W: But I should remind you that when you give a customer a haircut, your customer might catch a cold.
M: Yeah, I’d like to pick up some medicine on the way to the bank.
W: No hurry, Tom, The bank doesn’t open until 9:00 a.m.

M: Hey, Mary, what are you doing?
W: I’m taking a break and getting some sun.
M: It must be nice to work at home.
W: Sure it is!Iget to make my own timetable. But it does get a little quiet sometimes. How’s your job going, Mike?
M: I’m a little bored. I’m thinking about doing Web design at home. But I worry that if I work at home, it’ll be difficult to concentrate my attention.
W: That’s not a big problem foe me. Some days I don’t feel like working, but then I tell myself that writing is the job I love. If my book odes well, I’ll be able to save some extra money. Then I can take a real break and go somewhere exciting.

W: Hello. I’m calling about the apartment you advertised in the newspaper.
M: Hello. What kind of apartment would you like to pick?
W: I’m interested in a one-bedroom.
M: I have one. When do you need to move in?
W: Sometime around next week. What can you tell me about this apartment?
M: Well, the rent is $650 a month. You pay electricity and water. Gas is included. Both the heat and the stove are gas. There is a TV set and you can surf the Internet if you have a computer. And you’ll get a parking space at no extra charge. And…that’s probably it.
W: Sounds good. May I come over tomorrow to take a look?
M: Sure. What time would you like to come?
W: How about 10:00?
M: Good.

W: Was it? That’s where Rob and I are going on holiday!
M: Wow, lucky you!
W: Yeah, we’re setting off on Saturday.
M: How long are you gonging for?
W: Two weeks.
M: Nice. Where are you staying?
W: We’re staying with friends for week-they live in Christchurch. Then we’re gonging on a package cycling tour for three days
M: Cycling for three days. That sounds like hard work!
W: Well, it’s not all cycling. Sometimes we’re driving to places in a tour bus and then cycling when we get there. What about you?
M: I’m not going anywhere. But I’ve recorded that programme so I’ll watch it again instead!

The most famous must be Christmas, which is a Christian festival celebrated add over the world Day. Thanks giving, the fourth Thursday in November, celebrates the first harvest of the original 1863. Independence Day is the celebration of America’s independence and barbecues so as to celebrate the event. Labor Day, the first Monday in September, honors the workers of the land. Like Independence Day, Labor Day is a time for outdoor picnics and barbecues, and it marks the end of the summer season. Celebrations of other nations’ historic days are quite common in America.
