Annie Oakley was born in 1860 in Darke County, Ohio. Her family was very poor. She decided to help her family even when she was very young, so she learned to use a gun, and began hunting animals for food. She could shoot them without losing the important parts of the meat.

Worldwide, the most people willing to return your mobile phone if you’ve lost it are to be found in Slovenia, and the fewest in Malaysia. This finding is the result of an interesting study in 32 of the world’s largest cities. Altogether, researchers "lost"960 new mobile phones. They got back 654 of them, or 68 percent. Prague came in at number eight. There, 23 out of 30 people who were willing to return the mobile phone.
It wasn’t a traditional study. Two researchers carefully chose different places, such as areas with high crime (犯罪) and busy downtown shopping areas, to "lose" the phones. When one of the researchers dropped a phone, the other would keep watching from a distance. The honest finders tried their best to find the owner with the help of the address book in the phone. They were told why the study was done and asked why they acted the way they did.
It was found that the busier the place where the researchers dropped the phone, the greater the chance of it being returned. Another interesting finding was that women were generally more likely than men to return the phone. Researchers also found that most people still have a sense of honesty. "Crime is simply not good behaviour (行为),"said an expert. "People want to trust others, and want to be trusted."

Anyone who takes a trip to San Francisco should be sure to visit the Golden Gate Bridge. The Bridge was built between 1933 and 1937, and continues to be a popular place for tourists and the people living in California to spend time. The day before the Bridge was open to cars, people were invited to walk across it. This is still the best way to see it, although today, you must stay on the sidewalk. Some people choose to rent bikes to ride across. Either way, be sure to bring a jacket. The Bridge can be very windy.
For many years, the Golden Gate Bridge was the longest bridge of its kind in the world. However, now there are eight other bridges that cover longer distances. Three of them can be found in China. Annie Oakley was born in 1860 in Darke County, Ohio. Her family was very poor. She decided to help her family even when she was very young, so she learned to use a gun, and began hunting animals for food. She could shoot them without losing the important parts of the meat.
Soon her shooting ability became well known. When she was sixteen, she was invited to a competition with a famous marksman (神枪手), Frank Butler. Annie surprised everyone by winning the competition. Later that year she and Frank married.
In 1882, Annie Oakley and Frank Butler started putting on shows together. Frank Butler was the star of the show and she was his assistant. The famous Native American leader, Sitting Bull, thought so highly of her shooting ability that he called her "Little Sure Shot". Later Annie Oakley became the star of the show and Frank Butler was her assistant. Posters (海报) for the show called her the "Champion Markswoman".
During World War One, Annie Oakley wanted to train a group of women volunteers for the army, but the United States did not accept it. She gave American soldiers shooting lessons, and traveled across the country visiting many training camps. She gave shooting performances and raised money to support the American soldiers.
Annie Oakley died on November 3, 1926. Eighteen days later, Frank Butler died too.

Worldwide, the most people willing to return your mobile phone if you’ve lost it are to be found in Slovenia, and the fewest in Malaysia. This finding is the result of an interesting study in 32 of the world’s largest cities. Altogether, researchers "lost"960 new mobile phones. They got back 654 of them, or 68 percent. Prague came in at number eight. There, 23 out of 30 people who were willing to return the mobile phone.
It wasn’t a traditional study. Two researchers carefully chose different places, such as areas with high crime (犯罪) and busy downtown shopping areas, to "lose" the phones. When one of the researchers dropped a phone, the other would keep watching from a distance. The honest finders tried their best to find the owner with the help of the address book in the phone. They were told why the study was done and asked why they acted the way they did.
It was found that the busier the place where the researchers dropped the phone, the greater the chance of it being returned. Another interesting finding was that women were generally more likely than men to return the phone. Researchers also found that most people still have a sense of honesty.
